a neck for a knit garment similar to a funnel neck but shorter and typically not as loose.
Spring is slow to come thankfully because I’m not ready to say farewell to my favorite winter staples just yet, but I am excited to reintroduce some warm-weather clothing back into my wardrobe rotation. Transitioning from winter to spring styles in a way that feels seasonally appropriate—acknowledging the reality of Austin’s bipolar climate—calls for a closet balancing act.
Cue the mock turtleneck, a surprisingly versatile piece that can be worn in the cooler weather before the sun scorches all of Texas. The key? Focus on fabrication, cut, and proportions.
Keeping cool is easy in sleeveless, I chose a sleeveless ribbed thin-knit mock turtleneck sweater (try saying that 3 times fast) for a fresh take on spring season style. As the warm weather approaches, don’t be too quick to pack away all of your winter staples. I love to mix and match my cool weather accessories like these Suede OTK boots and front flowing shearling vest, with warm weather must haves like a breezy pair of leggings , or shall I say jeggings?
Who needs a snuggle buddy when you have this vest? I love the leather trim around the front and side pockets of this insanely soft drapey vest. Both the vest and over the knee boots, (64$!!) I am wearing in this look, are from Sosie, a new favorite online boutique and I have a special promo code just for my readers of for 20% off your entire order! Use “Dani20” at checkout! When it comes to styling other mock turtleneck combos, try a sleeveless turtleneck paired with pants, a long sleeve turtleneck paired with shorts, or maybe event a boxy cut turtleneck with your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans. My personal favorite? A cropped rendition of a turtleneck with an a line skirt for a feminine yet flattering appeal. Perhaps the most crazy combo of all? What about a neck hugging turtleneck with a pair of overalls? Something about it says ‘effortless chic’ to me!
